After not making a sound for a long time, I finally have a post today.
Winter is always a style crisis for me.
And since the "scalpers" are making it more and more difficult to get hold of old school gyaru brands, I opened ROMWE for you again and looked at what is currently available that is suitable for our gyaru style.
I'm aware that Shein & Romwe's fast fashion behavior isn't a good option, but if you buy this type of fashion in moderation instead of in bulk, you shouldn't have too bad a conscience. (Unfortunately, even high-priced brands produce under very poor conditions.)
So here is a well-intentioned advice. Think in advance whether and how often you will wear the item of clothing.
For example, I don't wear my clothes just once and then leave them hanging in my closet forever or throw them into the old clothes bin after 4 months.
(Okay...I'm a clothes hoarder ... sorry not sorry)
Enough with the moralizer. Back to topic.
Romwe, unfortunately, has new clothes every week that really fit Gyaru well.
So you have to check regularly what's available under the category: J-Fashion & Kawaii
can be found.
However, I would like to address one more point that really concerns me. And I am aware that what I am about to write will come across as really “mean” to some people.
But I (from a personal perspective) find some of the "new" interpretations of Gyaru Fashion just ugly. It's usually completely overloaded, poorly combined and you get the feeling that some people just haven't understood the "essence".
I'm so sorry for my rudeness... but this is my opinion.
Now let's finally come to the clothes that I found on ROMWE and which remind me of one or two brand items from the good old Golden Era of Gyaru.
d.i.a
I have the feeling that the d.i.a brand in particular has a very high replication value. I've already ordered one or two items myself and I'm actually relatively satisfied.
Ma*rs
I had a bit of a hard time with the Ma*rs clothes. Ma*rs is a brand that is hard to imitate. At least when it comes to the clothes made with the company's own fabrics. For me, Ma*rs always stood for a combination of black and pink + eye-catching patterns.
Of course there were also one or two “simple” pieces. But overall, Ma*rs is and remains unique. Even the clothes that I have classified here under Ma*rs do not fit 100%.
Liz Lisa
Liz Lisa, on the other hand, makes it relatively easy. Because the brand still exists and hopefully will continue to exist for many years to come. You can include different collections from many years here.
I'm still a little sad that there isn't that typical boho style or the cute floral patterns yet, even though I found two tops that already go in a similar direction.
Tralala
My favorite category. Tralala was a subsidiary of Liz Lisa, unfortunately the brand no longer exists.
While Liz Lisa reinterpreted the boho & hippy style back then, Tralala had a more modern twist on "kawaii" fashion. The colors were darker and the patterns more striking. (Compared to Liz Lisa's delicate floral patterns)
I have to say that some of the pieces here really speak to me.
What do we say to that?
ROMWE on the left - Tralala on the right
LizLisa Doll & Lizmelo
Again, subsidiaries of Liz Lisa or, in other words, other collections.
Liz Lisa stretched her fingers in a variety of directions and as a result there were more than five subsidiaries/collections.
The hoodie with the ears would fit really well into the Lizmelo range.
EDIT:
(I have removed the Liz Lisa Doll top from the category here.)
DreamV
As I mentioned, DreamV has imitated many brands. Back then it was much more affordable to buy a DreamV dress than one from d.i.a.
It has to be said that DreamV/Yumetenbo also had many collections with different names, which meant that very different styles came together. So I put everything in this category that reminded me of the old Yumetenbo times.
However, I only included the first top because it's at the top of my wish list... but it's constantly sold out in my size.
Golds Infinity
When I saw this dress, I was very happy inside. Is the GOLDS infinity era coming back?
Unfortunately it is the only one of its kind. But I really hope that we will find more pieces in this style soon. Maybe with some chiffon?
Kogal
Kogal is not a brand, but I still wanted to include it in my ROMWE Finds.
For those who didn't know, Kogal is, in simple terms, the combination of a schoolgirl and Gyaru. (Very roughly) If you want to know more about it, it's best to google it.
Shoes
And last but not least. Shoes. I have no idea which brand released the shoes. (I always thought it was Demonia) but the platform fur boots are almost a must-have.
Black overknee boots definitely belong to the “Golden Era” of the 2010/11 Gyarus.
If you want a monthly update, let me know.
xoxo
Tamiko
